The DWQ Stormwater Permitting
Unit has just added a stormwater active permits map (modeled after
the DENR Application Tracker) to their website (http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/wq/ws/su/).
The direct link to the stormwater map is: http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/wq/swpermit-tracker
Each permit type is color-coded, and there is a search box to narrow
down results. If you click on a site, a pop-up window provides information
about the permit and facility. The map includes State Stormawater
permits, NPDES stormwater permits, and No Exposure Certifications
(both active and expired). Permit applications that are currently
in-house and still in review will continue to be shown on the Department’s
Application Tracker Map: http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/deao/permit-tracker
Presently, DWQ anticipates updating the stormwater permits map
monthly. DWQ also said that they know that some state stormwater
permits are showing up outside of NC because of missing locations
or errors in our database, and will work to resolve those issues
over the next several months.
