About The 2010 Workshop

Do you have questions about North Carolina’s water quality laws and regulations?

Are you unsure about how NEW state Water Quality Standards may impact your NPDES or Pretreatment permit?

Are you concerned about how your wastewater operations would be evaluated during a regulatory inspection?

The North Carolina Division of Water Quality (DWQ) is the best first stop for answering those questions.

In this workshop, you can learn first hand from the staff of DWQ what they expect from regulated sources.

This year’s workshop will include a special presentation on proposed new North Carolina Water Quality Standards.

Under the new standards, direct and indirect dischargers may see a substantial tightening of their wastewater permit limits for metals and nutrients (as measure by chlorophyll a). Learn how these new standards may impact your NPDES or Pretreatment permit in the near future

Other topics sure to be of interest to permitted sources include: who to contact at DWQ, pretreatment rules, interbasin transfers, TMDLs, and stormwater from construction activities.

In addition, an enforcement panel from the regional offices and the Raleigh compliance staff will be available to answer all your enforcement questions.

Presenters

The Workshop will be presented by the staff of the Divisions of Water Quality and Water Resources.
