About The 2010 Workshop

Operators of Title V, synthetic minor, small, and area sources of air pollutants are faced with a complex and at times confusing set of requirements under North Carolina’s air quality regulations and individual air permits.

Now you can learn first hand what the regulators from the North Carolina Division of Air Quality (DAQ) will expect from operators of each type of source in 2010.

For this year’s program, the DAQ staff from the compliance section has developed the agenda. So if you have any questions about compliance issues in North Carolina, this is the program to attend.

The morning session of the Workshop will focus on issues common to all regulated air emission sources. Among the topics that DAQ staff will cover are: 2010 rule changes, reporting greenhouse gases on the emission inventory, how North Carolina will handle the greenhouse gases “tailoring” rule, what to do if you receive a NOV, and what information submitted to DAQ can be claimed confidential.

In the afternoon, Workshop attendees will have the choice of attending one of two concurrent sessions.

The concurrent session for Title V sources will focus on issues specific to such sources including: Section 112(j) and the vacated boiler MACT, SSM, and enforcement.

The concurrent session for non-Title V sources (synthetic minor, small, and area sources) will focus on area source GACT requirements, enforcement, and permitting issues specific to such sources.

Both sessions will have an enforcement panel from the regional offices and the Raleigh compliance staff to answer your questions.
